Most PCs with touchpad enables Windows 8.1 gesture support. In most cases, it is more of problem/annoying feature than it is worth. To disable charms bar from showing up when swiping the touchpad (Dell laptops), do: Open Dell Touchpad from system tray. Go to Gestures tab Disable/un-check "Right Edge Swipe"

If you have nVIDIA graphics adapter and installed nView Desktop Manager and you also have VirtualBox running in the host machine then Alt+Tab functionality in the guest will affected by nView if it is enabled. This was observed on: OS: Windows 8.1 Enterprise 64-bit VirtualBox: 4.3.20

PyCharm can sometimes get confused specially if you have multiple interpreters and using virtualenv. To fix "Unresolved reference 'print'" message, do File | Setting... This assumes that IronPython is installed in D:\ipy . Download Serpent archive file - used 1.7 ( link ). Serpent is needed by Pyro 4. Extract to a folder, say D:\Serpent . Change directory to where Serpent was extracted then do  D:\Serpent>D:\ipy\ipy.exe setup.py install . This will install Serpent. Download Pyro 4 tar archive ( link ). Extra to a folder, say D:\Pyro4 . Change directory to where Pyro4 was extracted then do D:\Pyro4>D:\ipy\ipy.exe setup.py install .
